What are Injectable Fillers?

A balloon that runs out of air is similar to what occurs to your skin when it ages and loses elasticity. As you lose elasticity, you lose volume. Your skin begins to sag, creating wrinkles, and excess skin develops.

Products like Restylane and Juvederm are developed to fill the void created by lost volume during the aging process, like blowing air back into a balloon for re-inflation.

Fillers are made up of Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a natural product already found in the body responsible for collagen production. Collagen is a primary building block for the structural support of your skin. Collagen provides the volume and shape needed for skin deteriorated by age. When fillers are injected, they fill the void and augment collagen creation into the loss of space.

Filler Applications:

• Fine lines and wrinkles (forehead, around eyes and lips)
• Smiles lines (Nasolabial fillers)
• Augmentation of the chin and nose
• Lip Enhancement
• Volumizing the cheeks and cheekbone
• Eye trough
• Frown Lines (marionette lines) and downturned smiles

How it Works

A 10 minutes pre-treatment ice applications is performed. Post-numbing, a further topical anesthetic is applied. The area is then cleaned and a very fine needle is used to administer the Filler utilizing sterile technique. Post-treatment, ice is then re-applied followed by a topical moisturizer. Dependant on client results, occasionally you may be educated on Filler massage techniques.

What to Expect

Fillers offer instant gratification with no loss in downtime. You can resume your regular activities in less than 10 minutes. You may experience local redness and occasional bruising for 1-2 days. Touch ups are not uncommon and can be done 7 days post-treatment with both addition or removal of Filler.  Hyaluronic Acid fillers are reversible, nonpermanent, and can last 6 months or longer.
