What is a PRP Facial?
Platelet-rich plasma and stem cells are significant building blocks for tissue, collagen, bone, cartilage, and hair development. The last several years, orthopedic medicine has effectively used PRP in reducing pain and rehab time, and improving overall functional status in patients.
Similar to the progressive use of PRP in orthopedic medicine, the aesthetics community has found new, non-invasive uses of PRP. One such use is in hair regrowth, scar reduction, nerve injuries, and skin remodeling.
As we age, the face and skin are affected by bone breakdown, fat pad migration, and the loss of skin integrity. Remedies of the past relied heavily on creams and serums producing suboptimal results with a significant cost.
PRP applied to the face is a process by which growth factors are stimulated to develop new collagen. New collagen results in reinforcing the structure of skin, reestablishing a youthful looking appearance to your skin.

How it Works
The PRP process involves drawing your own blood. Then using a centrifuge to separate platelet-rich plasma from your blood. While the PRP is separated, a topical numbing agent is applied to your skin. Once the PRP is isolated from your blood, it is then superficial injected into the areas of concern. Microneedling can also be performed over treatment areas to promote tissues absorption of PRP and hastening of the wound healing cascade.
What to Expect
PRP has 24-48 hours of downtime. Immediately after the treatment patients experience redness and sensitivity to the area. 1-2 treatments are recommended, and each treatment is spread-out over 2-3 months.
