Stretch Marks
What are Strech Marks/Scars?
Stretch Marks are a result of prolonged stretching of the skin, weakening the elastic tissue, causing shiny lines. Usually, these marks are a result of pregnancy, weight gain, and weight loss, mainly affecting areas of the breast, thighs, or buttocks.
Scars are areas of fibrous tissue that replace the normal skin after an injury. When skin regrows after an injury, the scar that forms is of different integrity, color, and shape.
The application of laser, dermabrasion, and microneedling have reduced the looks to both stretch marks and scars. With the advancements in microneedling, skin areas that were previously sensitive to laser are now treatable.
Skin Resurfacing Applications:
- Stretch marks
- Acne Scars
- Body Scars
- Skin discoloration
- Wrinkles
How it Works
First, a consultation and evaluation of your skin type are performed. Depending on the modality of choice, the skin will be cleaned, prepped, and anesthetized.
After the resurfacing procedure, absorption into tissue is optimal, during which time, a topical growth serum is applied to promote anti-aging skin regeneration.
What to Expect
The procedure takes 60 minutes, with no downtime, and minimal pain. You will see redness to the treatment area that lasts 24 hours and then resolves.
With any resurfacing treatment, post skincare regimen will be explained. Hydrate the skin, protect it with SPF lotions, and avoid chemically abrasive agents.
For best results, 3-6 treatments are recommended, at 4-week intervals.
